God is calling all to hear what is about to happen worldwide

Remember Mount Sinai. Remember the words of God to Moses and His people.

He gave them His law on two stone tablets written by His own finger.  God's law does not change.

God's chosen people called to proclaim salvation to the world.

God's chosen people were blessed because the Messiah would come from their seed.

God called Abraham and told him he would become the father of many nations.  His seed would bring the Messiah to the world to benefit mankind forever.

God had a very special purpose for the nation of Israel, to reveal the plan of salvation to the world.

God foretold, through His prophets, the future of His people and all the nations of the world. His words have been preserved down through time in the holy scriptures. God doesn't change, and His words are still relevant and binding.

Jerusalem, Chosen for a Purpose

God chose Jerusalem as the center for His people to worship Him.

The Law of God and Ordinances of Moses

What is the law of God?  God's law was written by His own finger on 10 stone tablets.

The law of Moses was contained in ordinances kept on the outside of the Ark of the Covenant which housed the 10 Commandments.

God gave the Israelites, who were brought out of Egypt, instructions on how to live and worship.  Two sets of laws; one is permanent.

When the shofar sounded, all the Israelites gathered to hear God's words and directions.

God also spoke through His prophets.

Just like the sound of the shofar in Biblical times, God is calling the entire world to hear Him now

Prophecies spoken by God long ago are recorded in scripture.  Some given by God over 2,500 years ago predicted what would be happening in today's world.

God's words have been preserved for us today.

    God still speaks to mankind.

His prophets recorded His words about the Messiah.

The question of the ages: who is the Messiah?

How do we understand who the Messiah is?

    What did Moses say?

"The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken."  (Deut 18:15)  Through the Messiah, God's new covenant would be established and the plan of salvation proclaimed to the entire world.

The Messiah is described in the Torah, the Psalms, and the Prophets.

What are the clues in God's holy scriptures?

    The Messiah:

    Would have an enemy.

Gen 3:15  "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise thy heel."

Would be of the seed of Abraham.

Gen 17:19  "And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed: and thou shalt call his name Isaac:  and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him."

Would come from the tribe of Judah.

Gen 49:10  "The septre shall not depart from Judah, not a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be."

    The Messiah:

Would be born as a baby in Bethlehem Ephratah, Israel.

Micah 5:2  "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."

Would be anointed for ministry at a specified time.

Dan 9:25  "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto Messiah the prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks:"

Would come from among the Jewish people.

Deut 18:15  "The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him shall ye hearken."

    The Messiah:

Would be called the Son of God.

Ps 2:7  "I will declare the decree:  the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my son; this day have I begotten thee."

Would be born of a virgin mother.

Isa 7:14  "Therefore the LORD himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."

Isa 49:5  "And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him.  Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength."

    The Messiah:

Would escape to Egypt with His parents as a child.

Hos 11:1  "When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt."

Would be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Isa 11:2  "And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD."

    Would speak in parables.

Ps 78:1-2  "Give ear, O my people, to my law:  incline your ears to the words of my mouth.  I will open my mouth in a parable:  I will utter dark sayings of old."
